The City of Idaho Falls (City) is seeking qualified and experienced respondents from interested persons or firms (hereinafter referred to as “respondent” or “Consultant”) to submit qualifications for developing two new City Buildings for the Public Works Department. The new buildings will house the Water Division, and the Street and Sanitation Divisions will share a new building.

The City of Idaho Falls is seeking qualified firms with recent experience in developing civil site plans and building plans within the City of Idaho Falls. The City will furnish all required surveying for both buildings. Consultant work will include any required subsurface investigation, a demolition plan, (Street/Sanitation building), building design, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), IT accommodation, remote telemetry accommodation (Water building) civil site plan development, initial project cost estimation for budgeting purposes, utility relocation coordination (if required), and any other work required to assemble complete plans, project cost estimate (general estimate at 30% design and a more detailed estimate to be provided at 90% design) and specifications for bidding.
The Water Division Administration Building will be placed on the southeast corner of N. Holmes Avenue and Hemmert Avenue. The building will consist of approximately 9,000 total square feet to accommodate up to 48 employees. The building will consist of a reception area for 2-3 employees, office space for 7 employees, approximately 2,000 square feet of warehouse space, storage/archive space, cubicle design for 40 employees, restrooms meeting existing code requirements, locker room for 40 employees, mud/washdown room, kitchen with lunch/break room w/ kitchenette for 40 employees, meeting room for 48 employees, small conference room for 12 employees, and parking lot improvements.
The shared Street/Sanitation Administration Building will be placed on the current site of 2480 Pop Kroll way. The existing building is intended to be demolished, but site plan review will be required to pursue other siting locations. The new building will consist of approximately 10,000 square feet with a common main entry and greeting area splitting into two separate sides of the building, one housing the Street Division and the other the Sanitation Division. The building will consist of a common reception area for 4 employees, separated Street and Sanitation office space, storage space, offices for 7 Street employees and 7 Sanitation employees, restrooms meeting existing code requirements, shared conference/training room for 66 employees, traffic control center accommodating up to four work stations, shared lunchroom w/ kitchenette for 66 employees, locker room for 66 employees, shared conference room with seating that accommodates 12 employees and outdoor covered eating area.
The successful consultant will also assist in answering questions that may arise during the bidding process. A separate contract may be pursued for assistance with contract administration.
To assist in site plan development and demolition plans, as-built drawings for the existing Street/Sanitation Building will be provided to the successful firm.
