1. Restroom Design a. Snow load – capable of withstanding a minimum snow load of two hundred fifty (250) pounds per square foot (PSF). b. Floor load – capable of withstanding a minimum floor load of two hundred fifty (250) PSF. c. Wind load – capable of withstanding sustained wind speeds of one hundred twenty (120) miles per hour (MPH), as well as being capable of withstanding wind gusts of up to one hundred eighty (180) MPH (Exposure C). d. Earthquakes – capable of withstanding the effects of seismic activity associated to a Category E earthquake as defined by the International Building Code (IBC). e. Floor plan – six (6) feet six (6) inches x fourteen (14) feet, eight (8) inches and must be Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant. f. Walls – minimum thickness of four (4) inches with steel reinforcement. Interior walls and ceiling to be painted in a white semi-gloss followed by an anti-graffiti sealer. g. Floor – minimum thickness of five (5) inches with steel reinforcement. Interior floors to be painted in a two-part waterbased epoxy, grey in color. h. Roof – must have a 3/12 (fourteen (14) Degree) roof pitch. i. Vent stack – HDPE pipe, twelve (12) inch diameter, extended a minimum of three (3) feet above the highest point of the roof. Must extend straight up from the vault and must have a cover. j. Concrete reinforcement – all steel must be new, free from contaminants and significant rust when placed. Steel reinforcement must be centered in the cross-section area of the walls with a minimum one (1) inch cover under the surface of the floor and roof. Full length steel to be used when applicable. Diagonal reinforcement must be placed around all openings. k. Sealers and curing compounds – curing compounds must be odorless. Weatherproofing sealer for exterior must be water based, clear and low gloss. Weatherproofing sealer must be followed by an anti-graffiti sealer. l.
