Specifications include, but are not limited to: The selected Broker will perform a full range of services related to the design, implementation, maintenance, communication, improvement, and financial management of the Village’s group health insurance and wellness programs. The responsibilities may include, but not limited to: I. General 1. Advise and assist the Village with benefit plan design to contain cost, maximize benefit effectiveness, and remain current with emerging benefit trends. 2. Work cooperatively, providing liaison services with other companies and consultants as the Village may see fit in putting together an effective benefit plan design. 3. Review coverage documents to assure coverage has been correctly issued. Advise the Village on potential gaps or overlaps in coverages. 4. Act as a liaison among the Village, its individual employees, and the insurance providers in resolving problems with an emphasis on seeking long-term solutions. II. Compliance 1. Ensure the Village’s plans comply with State and Federal requirements (i.e., HIPAA, COBRA, Affordable Care Act, etc.). Provide overall guidance to the Village on regulatory compliance. 2. Inform Village staff of major national or regional health care trends. 3. Provide updates on new or pending State or Federal legislation or judicial decisions impacting the Village and suggested action or changes in operations or procedures to assure compliance, including, but not limited to, the Affordable Care Act...
