The City is seeking a contractor to serve as the Value Added Kitchen partner for its work on the UAIP Grant. The contractor will be charged with providing a community kitchen space for use by other grant partners, grant beneficiaries, and City personnel to achieve the goals of the UAIP Grant Program. The Value Added Kitchen partner will work closely with City/OPHS staff, the Marion County Public Health Department (MCPHD), a food logistics partner, a canning classes partner, and others to effectuate the goals of the grant. The contractor should have a properly licensed shared kitchen space. The contractor should also have familiarity with urban farmers, community partners, and small businesses to increase the circulation of local, healthy foods in retail spaces in Indianapolis and Marion County. The contractor’s shared kitchen space must be located in Indianapolis/Marion County. The City also requires a partner who is not disbarred from receiving grant funds from the federal government. Experience and/or familiarity with receiving and managing grant funds, particularly federal grant funds, is preferred.
