Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Develop a position profile regarding the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the position. • Develop an advertising plan and recruitment brochure designed to identify and solicit individuals with the requisite skills and experience to successfully perform the functions of the position. • Screen candidates to identify those who may be best suited for position then prepare a written summaries of candidate profiles which will be reviewed and ranked by the Mayor and City Council to identify up to 5 candidates to select for interviews. • Conduct thorough background and reference checks (financial, educational, criminal, driving, and employment) on all candidates selected for interviews then prepare a written summary of these results for the City’s review prior to the interview. • Coordinate the interview process and recommend interview screening and rating matrices for the following panel interviews. o Mayor and City Council o Department Directors o Citizen Advisory Committee • Provide guidance and consultation to the City regarding the final section process. • Facilitate the compensation and benefits package negotiation process with the selected candidate.
