Specifications include, but are not limited to: asbestos and mold remediation services at the Colonial Building, 1500 2nd Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as requested by the City of Cedar Rapids Community Development Department - Housing Services Division . All Work shall be in accordance with Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS), current version; 4.8 Step #1: Pre-abatement Inspection – Prior to remediation efforts, the REMEDIATION CONTRACTOR shall do a walk through with the City’s Project Manager and review the recommendations of the environmental assessment contractor per the report. A pre-abatement checklist shall be completed and approved by both the Project Manager and REMEDIATION CONTRACTOR prior to abatement. An air quality pre-test is required prior to start of work. 4.9 Step #2: Remediation of all asbestos containing materials and mold as indicated in the Environmental Assessment Reports. Should previously undetected quantities of ACM and mold be discovered, work shall stop and the REMEDIATION CONTRACTOR shall immediately notify the PROJECT MANAGER. The PROJECT MANAGER will re-inspect the structure and determine if further abatement is warranted. This will only be allowable if ACM is found that is not indicated in the report or if additional mold is found on the second and third floors. The Contractor shall fully anticipate mold removal that is needed on the lower level.
