Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Clinton is inviting qualified contractors to submit their quotations for the re-roofing of the DHS Building located at 121 6th Avenue S. The purpose of this project is to replace the existing roof system to ensure durability and improve weatherproofing. Scope of Work: Roof Area: Approximately 10,200 Sq. Ft. Existing Conditions: The current roofing system includes an EPDM rubber surface with ½” fiberboard insulation on a built-up roof. The roof deck is made of wood. Work Required: Set up for re-roofing operations as approved by owner or management. Provide all necessary protection needed to guard all walls and adjacent structures. Set up required safety lines and guardrails as required by OSHA or a monitor. Cut and remove the existing EPDM rubber roof, all associated flashings and all underlying insulation down to the built-up roof. Discard and haul away all old roofing in an orderly manner by contractor vehicles or local dumpster service. Provide and install new 2-layer 2.6 Polysio insulation R-30 (or equivalent) to the entire area. Fasten each sheet using 5 fasteners as per manufacturers recommendations. Install the prefabricated 50 mil EPDM rubber roof, fastening each tab to the deck directly as per the EPDM manufacturers requirements. Repair and re-cap parapet walls with new flashing before completely covering the wall and cap with new EPDM rubber roofing material. Install EPDM prefabricated roof flashings to each obstruction and all parapet walls. Provide and install 24 g. 2-piece compression metal edge detail at perimeter. Seal and terminate each obstruction using EPDM termination bar and sealant. Provide and install 4 new 24g. conductor heads with 4 X 5 downspouts. Install breather heads at a rate of one per every 1,000 sq. ft. Heat-weld all flashings to the base membrane to create a one-piece roof system. Clean the adjacent work areas on a daily basis so as not to hinder the normal operations. Provide 20-year Mfg. warranty.
