Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Iowa (hereafter, The University /University) located in Iowa City, Iowa, is soliciting written proposals from qualified Suppliers to provide coding review and education for clinical physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs). The University currently partners with the Joint Office for Compliance (JOC) and Professional Coding Department (PCD) to provide initial and on-going education and chart reviews for ~10% of all claims. The University wishes to enhance and expand upon the current structure by partnering with an external Supplier who will provide a one-on-one review and training to the departmental providers. The successful Supplier will work in partnership with the University and will be expected to fulfill the following scope of services, including but not limited to: ꞏConduct an in-depth chart review of individual physicians and APPs; we anticipate that this will include at least 10 charts per individual provider to identify trends and areas for improvement in all clinical arenas (inpatient, outpatient, procedure, etc.). ꞏ Provide one-on-one educational sessions, ideally for 30-60 minutes, to review the findings from the in-depth chart review. The educational session should highlight missed opportunities, discuss documentation requirements that would support the appropriate level of care, and discuss and review charges that were missed (such as add-on procedure codes, etc.).
