Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project is intended to replace the existing Fire Station No. 4 with a new station located north of Clark Street, between 19th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy. This new station will meet the evolving needs of the Fire Department and improve response times in the City’s northwest quadrant. The 21,000 SF station will house a Medic Unit, Engine Company, Truck Company, and provide space for a future Heavy Rescue Company. Four apparatus bays accommodate the vehicles and equipment necessary for efficient emergency response; three shifts of nine firefighters, two Lieutenants, and a Captain will live and work in the facility. It will also be the home base for a District Chief, ensuring effective leadership and decision-making during critical situations.
