Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Identify and mitigate physical and physiological barriers which separate residents from transit and educational service and discourage active transportation travel. o Existing conditions and shall be documented with observations, data, and input and translated into data, maps, and plans. o Methodology to mitigate physical and physiological barriers presented from Highway 69/65 and Highway 92 shall be identified. o Document transportation system deficiencies and identify strategic opportunities to leverage major future development and transportation system investments to integrate existing developed areas with future growth areas. • Maintaining and enhancing upon the City of Indianola’s Hometown feel and local identity by carefully integrating new and existing development paterns and transportation networks. o Develop context-appropriate design standards that preserve and enhance the city’s identity and character. • Improving the ‘gateway’ experience for residents and visitors, with an emphasis on human-scale design and destination-based uses, services, and experiences. o Map to show connections to key destinations. o Prepare conceptual and illustrative designs that bring together the communities’ aspirations for land use, mobility, and economic development. Exhibits may include site plan schematics, representations of building form and massing, roadway cross-sections, streetscape designs, human-scale design elements, and other such exhibits.
