Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Davenport is accepting bids for the delivery of ice control road salt for the 2024-2025 winter season. There are two portions to the bid. The first is for a bulk Base Order of salt, which is to be delivered to CHS (Harvest States) River Terminal, located at mile 475.5 of the Mississippi River between 01 July 2024 and 12 October 2024. The second portion of the bid is for a Supplemental Order of salt to be delivered to one or both of the City of Davenport’s storage facilities on an as-needed basis in the event that base order stockpiles are exhausted. The City of Davenport guarantees that an order for 25% of the supplemental amount requested will be placed with the vendor no later than March 01, 2025. There is no guarantee that the total supplemental amount requested will be ordered. Bids are required on both line items (FOR BARGE DELIVERY and SUPPLEMENTAL DELIVERY – Line #’s 1 & 2). Bids that do not include both will be considered non-responsive. The City of Davenport also requests a price per ton for City of Davenport trucks picking up the supplemental salt from the vendor’s terminal (EMERGENCY NEED OPTION – Line #3). The total bulk salt requirement for this order is: 6,000 Tons +/- (the full load cargo capacity of 4 barges). Davenport requests a reserve stockpile of 6,000 tons for supplemental orders in quantities of at least 500 tons per order. 1,500 tons of this supplemental request is guaranteed to be ordered no later than 03/01/25.
