2.1. The Liquid Oxygen to be supplied shall be industrial grade oxygen. During Cryogenics Facility Maintenance (a scheduled 1-to-2-week shutdown of the City’s oxygen generation facility), up to 6 loads of Liquid Oxygen per day may be needed. Suppliers must be able to handle this high demand for this short period of time. The remaining Liquid Oxygen will be used to meet higher waste demand days, which will vary depending on WPC plant loading conditions (1 to 2 loads of oxygen per day is normal when slug loads of waste are discharged from industries). The City considers a load to be approximately 45,000# or 5,200 CCF. Deliveries shall be on an as-needed basis and will be ordered by shift supervisors by telephone. 2.2. Supplier shall be required to deliver and unload all Liquid Oxygen orders. Suppliers shall contact plant personnel prior to unloading to ensure Liquid Oxygen is pumped into the proper tank. Any special equipment required by the Supplier to unload Liquid Oxygen shall be supplied by the supplier at supplier’s cost. The Water Pollution Control Facility has two (2) 25,000-gallon Liquid Oxygen Storage Tanks. 2.3. A full description of the supplier’s safety and emergency response capabilities shall be included with the bid submittal.
