Contractor shall remove parts of the electrical system at Ellis Harbor, 2550 Ellis Blvd NW Cedar Rapids, IA 52405 as requested by the Parks and Recreation Department when flooding is forecasted. 2.2 The electrical components shall be removed when flooding is forecasted to reach a certain elevation with the chance that these systems could become inundated with floodwaters. Contractor shall maintain contact with the City’s Project Manager during a potential flood event to determine the best time for removal of the electrical components listed below and in the attachment section. The City wants to protect these systems by removing them and storing them off-site, to be re-installed once floodwaters have receded. 2.3 The electrical components to be removed are shown on the drawings in the attachment section. 2.4 The following steps shall be followed to remove the electrical components at Ellis Harbor: • Disconnect the structure from the main power supply by pulling the main disconnect. • Disconnect the wires leading to the meter assembly in the electrical gutter located approximately 13’ above grade. Disconnect the main wires from the main switch in the tap box located adjacent to the meter assembly. • Unhook the meter assembly and tab box from the conduit as shown on the drawings. • Unbolt the meter assembly and tab box from the field built structure. • Remove meter assembly and tap box from the field built structure using attachment points provided on the boxes. Feed out associated wires from above, coil and temporarily attach to boxes for transport and storage. • Transport to dry indoor storage area until re-installation is possible. The indoor storage area for the electrical equipment shall be provided by the Contractor and approved by the City. • Contractor shall reconnect following the above instruction in reverse. 2.5 Contractor shall coordinate the removal and reinstallation of meter assembly, tap box and associated wires with the Project Manager.
