1. Assembly must be designed for rigid pin mounting to an Iowa DOT snowplow hitch on the front of a Department truck. (See photo and dimensions below) a. Mount must use 4-four pins for attachment and have multiple holes to allow for a minimum of 4-inches of vertical adjustment. 2. Magnet must be a permanent ceramic grade-8, guaranteed not to lose more than 1% of its original strength. 3. Unit must have a minimum distance and speed rating of 6-inches at 5 MPH. and a minimum magnetic pick-up width of 96-inches. 4. Magnet containment vessel must have a stainless steel floor with hardened wear plates. 5. Release, unit must have a remotely operated release to discharge collected items. a. All linkage, actuators and attachment pins/points must be included and fully installed. b. If hydraulically actuated, a double acting cylinder required for actuation will be supplied by the Department.
