Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking bids from qualified Contractors for the printing, finishing and mailing of the City’s quarterly magazine-style newsletter called “Our CR”, as requested by the Communications Division. 1. The magazine-style newsletter shall meet the following specifications: • Printed on 50# Matte or 60# matte text (pricing is requested for both options); a decision will be made at the time of award between the 50# and 60# options • Four-color with bleeds • Folded and saddle stitched • Printed in quantity of approximately 74,000 for mailing direct to residents and businesses, plus up to 2,000 additional copies for distribution by City staff • Newsletter shall be 17” x 10.5”, folded to 8.5” x 10.5” • Pricing is requested for multiple page quantities which are listed in the Line Items tab in IonWave 2. Proofing The City will require a hard-copy proof for the first edition created under the new contract. The proofing process for subsequent editions can be done digitally through a pre-flight check system. 3. Mailing The publication will be mailed, by the Contractor, to every household (single family, condominiums, apartments, etc.) and business in Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha and Robins, Iowa on a quarterly basis. The Contractor must use the most efficient and economical mailing method. Currently, the Our CR magazine is mailed using the saturation method. Quarterly mailings shall occur at the following times: 1) First week in March 2023 2) Second week in May 2023 3) First week in August 2023 4) Second week in November 2023 4. Delivery Additional copies shall be delivered by ground transportation to the City of Cedar Rapids to an address to be determined. The address will be provided to the Contractor at the time files are delivered electronically to the Contractor for production.
