1. Removal and Re-installation of Pump and Motor a. The pump and motor will be removed and re-installed by the vendor complete with other accessories necessary for a complete pump. b. The City of Iowa City Water Division will unwire and rewire the motor. c. The vendor will inspect and rebuild the pump assembly, including replacement of rubber bearing inserts, bowl bearings, impeller wear rings and collets as approved by the City. 2. Inspection Report a. The inspection report of the pump and motor shall include documentation of components with photos, recommended repairs, and a detailed cost estimate. b. Any long lead times for parts shall be noted and an estimated schedule for repairs and reinstallation provided. 3. Disinfection a. Pump components will be cleaned in accordance with AWWA C653 prior to disinfection. b. The pumping equipment, the pump, column, line shaft and discharge head will be disinfected with a chlorine solution. c. The chlorine solution used for disinfecting the pumping equipment will be of a sufficient strength and applied to all parts of the pumping equipment. Chlorine solution will be applied in accordance with the latest revisions of AWWA C654. d. After the pump installation is complete the vendor will collect water samples for bacteriological analysis. The vendor will be responsible for shipment of the samples to a qualified laboratory. The vendor will have the analysis performed and will submit the results to the City of Iowa City Water Division.
