Specifications include, but are not limited to: Iowa State University is requesting bids from feed mills for 87 tons of six (6) complete swine diets that will be requested to the following location: Iowa State University Al Christian Swine Teaching Farm 3726 State Avenue Ames, IA 50014 2. Contract Terms It is estimated the duration of this order will be approximately 3 months from June 14, 2024 , or upon award, through approximately September 13, 2024, depending on actual feed consumption. The order will be complete and filled whenever 87 tons of feed have been ordered, regardless of the breakdown of usage between rations or farm locations. Note: The actual number of tons of feed ordered for each item may vary. 3. Feed Orders One ISU Purchase Order will be awarded for both farms. When individual feed orders are placed, the swine farm manager or his designee will indicate the farm name, diet number (see Ration Sheet), and bin number. (Each feed bin will have a unique number.) 4. Ration Modifications ISU may request to modify feed rations during the duration of the order to reflect new nutrient requirements of the pigs or changes in the nutrient value of the primary feed ingredients. Feed supplier will be allowed to adjust the price per ton to reflect price increase or decrease resulting from ration modifications upon approval of ISU. 5. Feed Load Sizes For bidding purposes, the average load size is estimated at approximately 6 – 9 tons. If a load is significantly smaller, the Vendor may charge an appropriate fee. Please state that fee on the Form of Bid page. 6. Feed Quality ISU reserves the right to cancel this order without penalty should poor quality feed be delivered and is not rectified after sufficient opportunity has been given. 7. Feed Grind Size All rations will maintain an average micron size between 600-800 microns. 8. Ingredients All feed ingredients shall be thoroughly mixed. Primary ingredients to be corn, and soybean meal. There will be two rations, one with dried distillers grains (DDGS) and another without dried distiller grains (DDGS). Soybean meal shall not contain hulls. No other grains, grain by-products or wheat mids are allowed.
