DAS is currently seeking design services from qualified firms for a project consisting of the replacement of a four-stop hydraulic elevator at the Terrace Hill Residence in Des Moines, IA. Design services shall include: 1.3.1 The contract for this work will be a modified ConsensusDoc 803. See link on cover page for a sample contract. 1.3.2 All design disciplines necessary to complete the scope of work. 1.3.3 Attend design kick-off meeting onsite to discuss desired outcome of the project with the Owner, Construction Manager, and Owner’s maintenance staff. 1.3.4 All designers and their consultants will need to pass a background check prior to working on this project. 1.3.5 Use of the State of Iowa‘s construction management software program for uploading all documents, submitting and approving pay apps, and construction administration. The cost for the use of the software is paid by the Owner. 1.3.6 An evaluation (2018), followed by code improvement upgrades (2019), was previously completed on this elevator. Information pertaining to the code upgrades conducted can be found on as an attachment included with the RFP. 1.3.7 The following scopes and project characteristics have been identified for this project: 1.3.7.1 The complete design, including all design disciplines, for full replacement of one existing Montgomery hydraulic four-stop elevator at the Terrace Hill Residence in Des Moines, IA. The State Elevator number for this elevator is 5421. 1.3.7.2 Access controls integration to elevators. The designer shall coordinate with Terrace Hill, the Department of Public Safety, and the State’s access controls vendor Basepoint, on access control requirements and shall provide recommendations for secure, reliable, and convenient access control solutions. 1.3.7.3 Any required video surveillance or visual verification systems shall be included as part of the design and shall be coordinated with Terrace Hill and the Department of Public Safety for integration into their existing systems.
