Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, materials, and insurance necessary to grind current tree debris pile located at 700 E. 13th St., Ames, IA. Tree pile grinding shall be done using a maximum 4-inch screen. Grinding work may be conducted any day of the week but must begin and end within daylight hours. Contractor shall understand that the debris pile may continue to grow once a contract has been awarded. Once a contract has been awarded, staff will conduct a pre-construction meeting with the winning Contractor designating site limits, ingress, and egress to the debris pile. Contractor is responsible for maintaining the conditions of the site upon completion of grinding. Contractor may temporarily store equipment on site for the duration of the job, however the City of Ames is not responsible for any of the equipment while on City property. Outside storage location for equipment will be determined by City Staff and communicated to contractor. All equipment must be removed from the site once the job is complete. Alternate #1: Contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, materials, and insurance necessary to remove all mulch generated from the tree debris pile located at 700 E. 13th St., Ames, IA. The City of Ames assumes no liability once the debris has been ground and removed from City property. Debris pile and mulch shall be ground and removed off City property by February 29, 2024.
