Specifications include, but are not limited to: It is our intent that the inspection will be performed in July-September 2024. The inspections will only include the portions of the bridge substructure that is underwater. The selected firm will be provided with a list of the bridges to be inspected and access to plans and past inspection reports. For 24 of the bridges, the consultant shall also provide a hydrographic survey of the stream bottom within 1000 feet upstream and downstream of the bridge. Inspection findings shall be documented in the Iowa DOT bridge inspection database, SIIMS. The inspection findings shall be recorded in compliance with the FHWA Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory. The consultant will be responsible for providing all resources necessary to perform the inspection. The consultant may be utilized for additional underwater bridge inspection needs for a period of three years.
