Specifications include, but are not limited to: Standard: Poles shall meet applicable industry standards including ANSI 05.1-2002 and the latest version of AWPA C1, C4, M1, T1 and UC4C (Extreme Duty) per requirements of AWPA U1. Sweeps, bends and crooks shall be no more than that allowed by ANSI standards. Material: Poles shall be select southern yellow pine properly cured and handled preceding treatment to prevent decay or deterioration. Prohibited defects as noted in ANSI 05.1-2002 shall be specifically watched. Sizing and Framing: Pole sizes and class shall meet ANSI 05.1-2002. Framing shall conform to drawings attached to this specification. Poles shall be bored, gained, and cut to length prior to final treatment. Treatment: Poles shall be processed and pressure treated full length with DCOI meeting the requirements of APWA P39, compounded with hydrocarbon solvent, Type A, carrier meeting the requirements of AWPA HSA. Net retention of DCOI shall be not less than 0.15 lb/cubic foot. Quality Control: Poles shall be manufactured in conformance with Wood Quality Control Inc.’s quality assurance program and branded “WQC.” Machine Shaving: Poles shall be machine shaved per ANSI standards with no incising. Marking: Poles shall be branded with date, treatment, size, class and type per ANSI 05.1-2002. The butt shall be marked with size and class. Shipping: Poles shall be delivered on a self-unloading vehicle and packaged in such a manner as to prevent damage during shipment.
