The City of Bonner Springs seeks rates from qualified contractors to mow grass and weeds, remove debris and trash, trim trees, and remove snow and ice. The City Municipal Code of Ordinances requires that violation notices be issued to property owners when: (1) vegetation reaches a height of twelve (12) inches; (2) loose trash and debris is present upon the property; (3) tree limbs on private property or in the right-of-way are less than 14 feet above the surface of the street or 9 feet above a public sidewalk; and/or (4) snow and ice accumulation 48 hours after a snow and ice event. If the violation is not abated by the deadline date, City Staff will submit a work order to the contractor with instructions on the required work to be performed to bring the property into compliance.
