Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Vendor must be authorized to offer Medicare Supplement insurance plans by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and in compliance with the insurance laws of the State of Kansas 4.1.02 Vendor shall be responsible for compliance with the privacy and security provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and shall comply with other HIPAA provisions and regulations applicable to the SEHP, including all terms of the applicable Business Associate Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the “BAA”), as well as applicable terms of the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999, the HITECH Act of 2009, and any other federal or State law pertaining to the protection of personally identifiable information. The Vendor shall accept full responsibility for providing adequate supervision and training to its agents and employees to ensure compliance with the Act. 4.1.03 Vendor shall work with the SEHP and their Vendor to allow a single sign on (SSO) feature for our members. 4.1.04 Vendor must comply with the State policy on security and accessibility standards found at: https://ebit.ks.gov/itec/resources/policies/policy-1210 4.1.05 Vendor must comply with encryption standards specified in applicable state and Federal policy and law, including State of Kansas ITEC, HIPAA, HITECH, FISMA, NIST, and FIPS standards for the storage and transmission of confidential or restricted data. 4.1.06 ID Cards and Certificates of Coverage: Vendor shall provide ID cards from Vendor’s card stock to each member of the program at no cost to the member or SEHP. Replacement cards shall also be issued at no cost to the members or the SEHP. An additional option for members to download and print cards is preferred. Cards must contain plan information necessary for the provider to submit claims. During this contract, if the Vendor’s name is changed for any reason or if other relevant information changes, is incomplete or contains errors, the Vendor must provide new ID cards for all members at the Vendor’s expense.
