Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Louisville Metro Government desires to engage a qualified professional planning and design firm that has extensive experience in the planning, programming and design of a full-service police training academy that will prepare future and current police staff with the appropriate training experiences required for the modern police officer. The areas of training must include at a minimum the following components: • Emergency vehicle operation/precision driving track, to include skid pad. • Outdoor firearms training range, with 300-yard bay. • Two 360-degree firearms training bays linked to driving track. • 5-7 administrative classrooms for students with technology capabilities. • De-Escalation / Simulator classroom. • Defensive tactics pad-room • Indoor weight room / cardio fitness center. • Locker rooms / Restrooms • Administrative offices for staff. • Auditorium that seats 300 people • Modular Tactical Training Building • Parking lot for 100 Vehicles • Running track • Community engagement facility • Area for Special Operations training (SWAT, SRT, Bomb, K9, Air, ATV & HIRT, etc.…)
