The Office of the County Attorney provides legal advice and services to County departments, agencies, boards, and commissions, as well as the County Council. Currently there are about 60 staff attorneys and 25 legal support staff to handle legal issues and provide opinions, prepare and present legislation, negotiate and prepare agreements and other documents on behalf of the County, draft resolutions and ordinances, acquire and convey title to real property, and represent the County in court and before various administrative bodies.
The contractor provides the Office of the County Attorney unlimited online legal web-based research on an extensive list of databases. All legal staff can search without time restriction with access to databases including Federal, State and Local Government codes, rules, regulations and procedures and many caselaw and secondary sources.
The current contract provides law books in print as ordered by the Office of the County Attorney and provides timely supplements to the print subscription(s).
The County seeks to enter into a contract with an entity that can provide online legal research, to provide law books in print based on publication orders placed by the County, and to deliver updates and supplements.
