MDOT MTA operates a fleet of approximately 800 vehicles that are equipped with onboard fire suppression systems. The buses are equipped with onboard vehicle fire suppression systems supplied by the OEM (Amerex) and some Retrofitted (KIDDE). The onboard vehicle fire suppression system requires periodic testing and inspection. The vendor will provide testing and inspection services for the onboard vehicle fire suppression systems, as specified in this Scope of Work. 2.2.2 In addition, MDOT MTA buses are equipped with portable fire extinguishers located onboard the buses. The portable fire extinguishers require periodic testing and inspection. The vendor will provide testing and inspection services for the portable fire extinguishers as specified in this Scope of Work. 2.2.3 As part of the MDOT MTA fleet plan, MDOT MTA may purchase additional buses during the term of this contract. At any time, MDOT MTA may add or delete buses from this contract. 2.2.4 Services provided will ensure that MDOT MTA’s bus fleet remains in a state of good repair. 2.2.5 The vendor will provide all necessary labor, material, equipment, and transportation necessary to complete testing and inspection services. 2.2.6 MDOT MTA may require emergency services for any accidental release of fire suppression chemical or inspection/repairs and certification of the fire suppression system after a bus thermal event.
