The Medical Director shall: a. Be responsible for providing medical oversight of patient care, including emergency medical dispatch, in the EMS operational program. b. Approve, participate in, and provide medical expertise for the EMS operational program. c. Comment, review and approve Department Work Procedures (Work Procedures) pertaining to EMS operational program and ensure that they coincide with State Medical protocols. d. Develop as necessary new Work Procedures as necessary for the implementation of the EMS operational program. e. Establish and oversee appropriate EMS provider remedial and continuing education programs for all Paramedic and EMT personnel. f. Oversee the credentialing of EMS providers. g. Evaluates and approves all patient care equipment used in the EMS operational program to include the replacement of existing equipment with new technology. h.
