Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Westminster Police Station presently owns and operates an emergency-only Cummins generator providing power to a panel EP1 though a single transfer switch. The lighting in EP1 is emergency lighting for exiting the building. This is a life safety function and must continue to remain separate from other systems within the building. The age and condition of the existing generator and transfer switch require these units to be replaced. The new generator will therefore serve a dual purpose for the building; both as an alternate power source for the entire building, and an emergency power source for life safety circuits within panel EP1, which will require two (2) separate transfer switches. The transfer switch for the entire building must be service rated for 800 amperes at 208/120 volt, and the life safety transferswitch must be rated for 125 amperes at 208/120 volt. A new annunciator will also be required for communication from the two (2) new transfer switches. Due to the proximity of the police station to the community, a level 2 sound attenuated enclosure provided with the generator will be required.
