1. Purpose/Description. UMGC is seeking proposals for printing of various items to include but not limited to, brochures, flyers, invitations, posters, and folders (“Services”). Task orders containing print specifications may be issued to one or more of the contracted firms for print projects as needed. Task orders may be issued to any of the contracted firms, and in no particular order. There is no guarantee of the amount of work that will be assigned. It is anticipated that multiple contracts will result from this Solicitation. Proposers shall be well-established, high-quality printers with a reputation for timeliness and superior customer service. Since Press Checks are required, it is highly desirable that firms be located in the Washington DC metropolitan area, no more than a 50 mile radius. This Agreement is non-exclusive. UMGC reserves the right to arrange for the Services provided hereunder from any other source. 2. Scope of Work. Printing shall be inclusive of the following unless otherwise specified in the task order. PrePress: Final artwork shall be uploaded to a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) site. Upon completion of the job, the printer will return the final, updated files to UMGC Color Corrections: One (1) round of color corrections shall be included with each estimate. Line Screen: Printers shall use highest line screen possible. Overs/Unders: Overages are not allowed and will not be reimbursed unless approved by UMGC prior to printing. Unders are not acceptable. Substitutions: No substitutions of any kind will be accepted without prior UMGC consent. Press Checks: Press checks are required for all color critical print jobs TBD by UMGC Copies: Additional print copies shall delivered the Adelphi, Maryland to the UMGC Project Coodinator for each print job. Task orders will specify the amount of additional copies needed. Additional copies are to be included in each task order estimate. In-House: Printing shall be performed in-house, unless otherwise approved by UMGC. Contractors shall be solely responsible for all services and printing assigned. Foil-stamping and embossing services are allowed to be outsourced with prior permission from UMGC. Proposal responses shall clearly state if foil stamping and/or embossing will be completed in-house or outsourced. No other outsourcing is permissible. The University is not seeking work from Print Brokers.
