Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.3.1 The contractor shall agree to furnish all labor, material, equipment, and services necessary to perform the scope of work set forth in these specifications. In addition to the weekdays, snow removal will take place on weekends and holidays, if necessary, with regular pay. 2.3.2 All lots, sidewalks and steps shall be cleared side to side no later than 6:30 am for snowfalls that occur the previous evening. 2.3.3 De-icing operations shall commence upon weather reports or notification by the department representative, Louis Small 410-554-9464 or his designee that at least 1/8th inch of ice is expected or has settled on the sidewalks. 2.3.4 Removal of snow will commence when the snowfall has stopped or when 1" of snow has accumulated on lots, driveways, sidewalks, and entrances; whichever comes first. Immediately after snow removal operations, the contractor shall apply a de-icing material on all walkways and lots. 2.3.5 Snow shall be removed from all entrance doors. 2.3.6 The contractor is not required to haul snow off the site. Snow shall be piled up where it is easiest to complete the work and not block accessible areas. All efforts will be made to avoid plowing into fixed shrubs and trees to avoid unnecessary landscape damage. Under no circumstances are parked vehicles to be plowed in. 2.3.7 Any damage to the grounds or structure due to snow removal operations will be required to be reported to the department representative within five days of snow/ice operations. This damage will be reviewed with the contractor. Damage necessitating immediate repair shall be undertaken within 48 hours by the contractor or will be initiated by the department representative. 2.3.8 The contractor shall provide numbers that will ensure a response back to the department representative within 15 minutes. Cell phone numbers, home numbers, and office numbers for all principles are to be provided as part of the contract. The contractor shall provide their employees with clear identification. 2.3.9 Snow removal services do not include any travel time, nor will the State be charged travel time. The services start when on-site and at the conclusion of snow removal and de-icing. 2.3.10 The invoice shall include the date of service, start of service and end of service. The number and name of employees doing which job and for how long must also be included. 2.3.11 The contractor shall use an environmental friendly ice melt.
