The guard on duty shall make between 4 to 5 patrols of the campus during each 8 hour shift while remaining alert and situationally aware for the entire shift. • Patrol functions consist of opening/closing buildings and offices/classrooms, checking doors are open or secured, turn on/shut off lights as required, detecting and responding to physical plant and security alarms. • Other duties include, but are not limited to, escorts, completing required logs, answering or sending emails, checking College databases for activities/information, working fixed posts during events or performances, summon emergency services as necessary (Police, Fire, Facilities). • Provide high quality customer service. • Respond to routine and emergency calls while maintaining composure; provide emergency aid until town services arrive. • Guard must be able to use and operate an issued cell phone and associated apps necessary for the performance of their duties. • Report any unusual incidents or hazardous conditions as soon as possible to the designated College Official. • Perform all other specified duties in accordance with the instructions as agreed upon between the Chief of Public Safety and vendor. Guard personnel shall also perform any additional duties, which the College and vendor agree upon in advance. • All guards are to familiarize themselves with post orders developed by the vendor and approved by Cape Cod Community College and Chief of Public Safety. It is the responsibility of the vendor to ensure that their personnel have read the post orders and fully understand their responsibilities. • All guards must have the capacity to assess situations that may involve alarm activation, medical emergencies and/or emergency evacuations to include evaluating the necessity of contacting police/fire/ambulance services and/or College officials
