At a cost to the EOTC, Collaborative Resolutions Group, Inc. previously doing business as The Mediation and Training Collaborative, is offering to act as a managed service provider and to provide mediators for domestic relations cases in the Family Resolutions Specialty Court in the Hampshire County Probate and Family Court. The Family Resolutions Specialty Court (FRSC) within the Hampshire County Probate and Family Court is an alternative to traditional family law proceedings for high conflict cases. The FRSC breaks down the issues in divorce, custody dispute or other family law matters into more manageable pieces and through mediation, the use of clinicians and family consultants, and meetings, rather than sessions, with the judge, helps families come to agreement on issues whenever possible. The FRSC needs an agency such as CRG to serve as a managed service provider with the ability to assign different mediators to upwards of 20-25 cases at any given time needing an assigned mediator promptly. Under this agreement, CRG will serve as the single point of contact for the Hampshire Probate and Family Court’s Family Resolution Specialty Court to access available and qualified mediators. It is expected that all CRG-trained and qualified mediators will have equal opportunity to fill requests for mediation services made by the FRSC without giving preference to a specific mediator. Mediators will be selected for each request based on criteria as defined by the Specialty Court department. The managed service provider needs to have enough trained mediators to handle the estimated volume of cases with a diverse enough panel of mediators to avoid potential conflict of interest between attorneys in the case and mediators in the case. CRG is the only entity identified to date that has the flexibility to recommend mediators as needed and expediate a new mediator if conflict or some other reason for change occurs to meet the needs of the EOTC.
