The CONTRACTOR shall remove (or prune) 23 trees from locations noted on the Bid Price Proposal Sheet and leave the stump behind no higher than 18” above the ground (unless otherwise directed by Town Staff to leave stump at a height of 10 or 12 feet). The TOWN reserves the right to remove any of these trees from the list for any reason. Stump grinding may also be requested by the TOWN at certain locations. The CONTRACTOR will be allowed to dispose wood chippings at the DPW facility at no charge, however tree trunks will not be accepted and the CONTRACTOR will be responsible for disposing of these at no cost to the TOWN. The work schedule shall occur between the hours of 7am-6pm, Monday – Friday with special approval from the Highway Superintendent for days and times outside these limits or on a holiday. CONTRACTOR must schedule work days 48 hours in advance with the Highway Superintendent so TOWN personnel can be present to supervise and assist, when possible, with removal of these trees and to allow for adequate time for the TOWN to order Police Details for such work. (Please note the TOWN will pay for these police details at no cost to the CONTRACTOR.)
