• Establish and oversee the implementation of policies, procedures and work standards for the department. • Oversee the development of policies and procedures in accordance with the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission • Oversee the requirements of the Massachusetts Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) as they relate to officer initial or re-certification. • Conduct SHA PD personnel investigations to determine violations of Somerville Housing Authority policies, procedures, and/or regulations. • Develop and utilize reporting systems and send reports to appropriate SPD and/or SHA staff and managers regarding on-site incidents, criminal activity, and lease violations. • Coordinate crime related data with SPD as it relates to SHA properties. • Meet with SHA property managers and coordinate with SPD to discuss crime, patterns and trends. • Attend SHA community and other meetings as requested to discuss crime patterns and trends.
