Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT)’s Office of Transportation Planning (OTP) is looking to conduct a study of the Route 20 Corridor in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. The study will develop and analyze conceptual alternatives for phased improvements along Route 20 to address safety, improve pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, and address access management. Areas for improvement on Route 20 include high speeds of travel, limited pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, complex access management, and traffic noise levels. Alternatives for Route 20 will be presented as a master plan with early-stage conceptual designs for short, medium, and long-term improvements for the corridor to be implemented in phases based on mitigation for planned private development and MassDOT-initiated projects.
