Under the administration of the General Services Department (GSD), security guards will be responsible for patrolling the assigned location to protect all private and public property, to prevent trespassing, vandalism, break-ins, fire, thefts, or any other type of loss. In addition to ordinary duties guards will pay attention to abnormal conditions, which affect the safety, security and appearance of City of Detroit properties and its surrounding grounds. The successful vendor shall furnish and maintain in good working order proper uniforms, outerwear, two-way radios and mobile patrol vehicles prominently displaying the company logo. The vendor shall provide an itemized list for all personnel, supplies, equipment and vehicles that are necessary to operate a private security force and services outlined in this specification. All security services must adhere to the following standardized security protocol: A. All security guards must be high visible to ensure safety and security. B. All security guards must be in full uniform. Uniforms must be neat, clean, freshly pressed and shoes shined. C. All security guards are responsible for performing all of their duties (i.e. assisting and communicating with the City of Detroit staff; informing city employers, if available, of potential problems.)
