Forensic electronic data recovery specialists will utilize specialized data recovery skills to enhance MSP’s ability to prosecute child sexual predators and identify suspects and victims of high technology crimes. MSP CCU offices maintain the critical infrastructure and data networks needed for these Contractor positions. Forensic Contractor responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Forensic examination and evaluation of computer hardware and software. Assist with investigations into computer-related criminal activity, including but not limited to, coordination and direction of forensic activities on computer-related equipment, networks, and information systems. Act as a technical consultant to Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies. Assist with the seizure of computer-related evidence, preparation of search warrants, and preparation of investigative information for Court purposes. Generate investigative correspondence consistent with Departmental protocol. Cooperate in the development and implementation of computer forensic training programs. Monthly reporting to the Project Manager regarding completed forensic data recovery projects. Consistent and reliable communication with the selected worksite team leader and the statewide commander and assistant commander of the Cyber Section.
