Specifications include, but are not limited to: This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) for services to perform asphalt pavement repairs on M-102 (8 Mile Road) at M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) and at M-97 (Groesbeck Highway) located in the cities of Eastpointe and Warren in Macomb County. The Contract will require HMA cold milling, repair and paving and other defined work. The Contractor must not leave equipment and/or store equipment overnight on any trunkline, State right-of-way, or public recreational property during the performance of the Contract. The Contractor must not operate or park equipment or store materials within a tree drip line. The Contractor must protect motorists from any materials or equipment stored inside the closure. All local noise, dust, and work-hour ordinances shall apply to the Contract. MDOT will not be responsible for any cost associated with the disposal of any service provided in this Contract. MDOT will not be responsible for any citations, fines or tickets received, while performing Contract activities. Contractor shall protect the safety and health of the public, state employees, State property and property of the local unit of government during the performance of this Contract. Contract Activities include milling all HMA repair areas, and as defined by the Engineer, to establish uniform 2” milled depth. This item will include sawing and hand chipping beveled edges at the perimeter of the mill areas, resulting exclusively in vertical edges, prior to placement of HMA paving. Cost of additional sawing and hand chipping efforts must be included in the quoted price for Cold Milling HMA Surface and will not be paid separately. Payment will be based on actual measured square yards of mill areas.
