o Each lot should be derived from a single herd to simplify health screening steps. o MSU seeks to take delivery of cows between August and December 2025, depending on completed construction of the new MSU dairy facility. o Cows should have a range of days in milk on delivery; MSU does not seek a large group of cows at the same stage of lactation or with similar expected calving dates. o For the purposes of this RFP, mature Holstein cows are defined as females of at least 20 months of age, either lactating or within 60 days of calving. o Herds offering cows for sale must be willing to share complete herd management records (e.g. DairyComp or PCDart offloads) with MSU prior to contract signing and again prior to delivery of animals. o Herds offering cows for purchase must agree to bulk tank sample collection for disease screening purposes prior to delivery of animals (at MSU expense). o Herds offering cows for purchase must agree to individual milk or blood sample collection for health screening prior to delivery of animals (at MSU expense).
