Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor must provide all personnel, training, adequate equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and/or services necessary to perform the contract activities. The required objective is to maintain the facilities in such a manner that the location provides a clean, healthy, and safe work environment for occupants and visitors of State-owned or leased facilities. BY STATE LAW: No snow shall be pushed across or onto adjacent roads and shoulders. The snow must not be plowed to cause a vision obstruction or hazard to the public. All parking spots and ADA ramps must be clear of snow and ice at all times. The contractor may have to come in with a loader to push snow back off parking spots. Snow plowing and/or salt application shall be completed by 6:30 a.m. All sidewalks must be cleaned by shovel or snow blower at the time of each service. Snow depths will be verified with the officially recorded depths at the local meteorological center. Rock salt shall NOT be used as a de-icing agent on sidewalks. Only Calcium Chloride or a product approved by MDOT shall be used as de-icing agent on sidewalks. Vehicle-mounted plows shall not be used to clear sidewalks. Only shovel, push snow-blower or equipment approved by MDOT shall be used to clear sidewalks. Under no circumstances shall MDOT be responsible for any damage to the Contractor's equipment due to obstacles encountered.
