Specifications include, but are not limited to: The RCKC is seeking bids from qualified contractors to furnish operator(s)/driver(s) and equipment/truck(s) which meet RCKC requirements to perform the winter maintenance services, including snow and ice removal, on an as needed/per event basis in identified platted areas, or Township areas within Kalamazoo County during the 2023/2024 winter season. Cooper Plats - Bid price proposed will be for 1” to 6” and more than 6” of snowfall per event. B) Driver Requirements The contractor’s drivers will meet the requirements and be in compliance with Section 4. Winter Maintenance General Requirements, L. Commercial Driver’s License Requirement and M. Background and Reference Check Requirements. C) Equipment Inspection Units shall be made available to RCKC for inspection and test operation prior to the award of this contract and prior to the winter season start up. If the equipment bid is proposed, and not yet available, please indicate that on the bid document next to unit # and the date the proposed equipment will be available for inspection. D) Equipment Requirements 1) The contractor shall maintain these units and all related equipment in good operating condition. 2) The contractor shall provide all required fuel, fluids and lubricants necessary to the operation of its units. 3) Contractor agrees to have equipment and operator(s)/driver(s) available to the RCKC throughout the 2023/2024 winter season which shall extend from November 15th through April 1st the following spring. 4) Contractors will furnish, install and maintain on each contracted unit the following items of equipment: a) Snow removal equipment with down pressure. 5) Material spreader appropriate for the application of abrasives to the roadway. 6) RCKC shall supply ALL required winter maintenance deicing chemicals and material. Material belonging to RCKC must not be stored in any location other than on the RCKC site.
