Specifications include, but are not limited to: Option 1 - Ballast Roof: The existing ballast is stone. The selected roofing material shall be compatible with a stone ballast. The roofing material will be a reinforced membrane style, if possible (an example material is the Holcim Elevate RubberGard MAX EPDM). The rubber thickness shall be at minimum 60 mil (0.060”). Rubber walking mats shall be provided to prevent damage to the roofing structure after the roof has been installed. These walking mats will allow personnel to access the roof hatches, exhaust fans, ladders, and other structures. Replacement metal flashing will be installed as needed. The existing flashing may or may not need to be replaced, depending on the condition of the flashing. Option 2 - Mechanically-Fastened Roof: The district seeks options for a mechanically-fastened roof. The roofing material will be a reinforced membrane style, if possible (an example material is the Holcim Elevate RubberGard MAX EPDM). The rubber thickness shall be at minimum 45 mil (0.045”). Rubber walking mats shall be provided to prevent damage to the roofing structure after the roof has been installed. These walking mats will allow personnel to access the roof hatches, exhaust fans, ladders, and other structures. Replacement metal flashing will be installed as needed. The existing flashing may or may not need to be replaced, depending on the condition of the flashing.
