MnDOT’s Active Transportation Program envisions a future where all people in Minnesota have access to safe and convenient active transportation where they live, work, and play. The non-infrastructure side of the program includes multiple ways for all communities to make walking, bicycling, and rolling safer, more convenient, and more accessible. Grants awarded through the non-infrastructure portion of the program may be used to support planning, installation of demonstration projects, education, engagement, encouragement, and other non-infrastructure activities. This scope of work includes three major project tasks (planning assistance, demonstration projects and noninfrastructure technical assistance, and evaluation), with subtasks to ensure that each task is carried out effectively. Currently available funding for the Active Transportation Program will be administered by the end of 2027; activities and project schedules in proposals should reflect this timeline.
