Specifications include, but are not limited to: The work covered under this solicitation shall consist of the labor, equipment, materials, tools, transportation, and incidentals necessary to: Pump water from the Canisteo Pit during the winter months for the purpose of reducing pit water levels. Due to the presence of zebra mussels in the pit, water can only be pumped when water temperatures are below 53F degrees and water samples are free from invasive species (zebra mussels). Pumping will begin on approximately December 1, 2023, and run continuous until the pit water temperature reaches 48F degrees for four consecutive days. No pumping shall occur unless approved by the DNR. The rate of pumping shall be 12,000 gpm to 18,000 gpm. Discharge water must be filtered to remove smelt so installation of a 0.25 mm screen system is required.
