Specifications include, but are not limited to: LAWN CARE Lawn care maintenance to include mowing the grass, weed whip around trees and buildings, and blowing grass clippings and weeds from walkways and driveways. Prior to the season in spring vendor will aslo perform a debris clean up around the grounds to prepare for services. 1. Contractor to furnish all lawn care equipment and suplies. All equipment must be in good condition to avoid excessive down time. All costs of maintenance and operation of equipment will be furnisted by the contractor. The State will not be responsible for any costs incurred by the contractor. 2. Mowing shall be done once per week weather-dependent, or as requested by the DNR site coordinator. In the case of drought during the season, the DNR site coordinator will contact the contractor for mowing as needed. Vendor will be paid only for each job completed. 3. Lawns will be professionally mowed and trimmed. 4. Mowing height to be adjusted as needed throughout the season. 5. All twigs, branches, etc after trimmed shalle be removed and sidewalks swept and or leaf blown. 6. Edging along sidewalks, curbs and drives will be on an as needed basis as determined by the vendor during the mwoing season. 7. See map for designated mowing areas. SNOW REMOVAL Provide all transportation, equipment, fuel, labor and all else necessary for snow removal on driveways, parking areas and the equipment storage yard. Contractor is responsible for removing snow from site. 1.Snow removal shall be performed when snowfall is two inches or greater, or as requested by the project supervisor or designee. 2.When snowfall is 2 inches or greater and the DNR determines that plowing will not be necessary, the DNR will contact the contractor by 8:00 PM the night before. It shall be the contractor’s responsibility to provide the DNR with a telephone number where the contractor can be reached and/or message can be left. The DNR is not obligated for payment is any such canceled service is performed. 3.Snow removal shall occur once in a day when needed unless additional services are requested by the DNR. 4.Snow removal shall take place after 6:00 PM or before 7:30 AM, Monday-Friday. 5.All areas shall be cleared by 7:30 AM, Monday-Friday. 6.Snow shall be pushed to area designated by project supervisor. See map. 7.Garage door aprons between posts shall be cleared of snow each plowing. 8.If snow accumulates over multiple snowfall events that are independently less than 2 inches, the DNR must request snow removal if removal is needed. 9. If snowfall warrants plowing after 6:00 PM on Friday and additional snowfall is expected before Monday at 7:00 AM, the contractor shall wait to remove snow so as not to incur an additional plowing during non-business hours over the weekend. 10.Snow plowing shall avoid placing snow on sidewalks. All sidewalks shall be cleared of snow each plowing. DE-ICING 1.The project supervisor will contact the Contractor to request all sand/salt applications as necessary. De-icing is only payable upon request of project supervisor. 2.In the event of extended cold temperatures (< 20º F) and ice buildup on the snow removal areas, the Contracto will apply an approved and/road salt mix to degrade and melt ice. 3.Contractor must provide and evenly distribute deicer over areas of ice cover. 4.Contractor will endeavor to minimize incidental salt placement on or near lawn or landscape plantings.
