Specifications include, but are not limited to: The successful responder will generate communication products intended to inform the public about winter maintenance operations and practices. Investigators will collaborate with Clear Roads to identify five to seven winter maintenance topics (e.g., road pretreatment practices, driving behavior around snowplows and other winter maintenance vehicles, using abrasives versus deicers, using chemicals versus anti-skid products, leaving snow on the road when freezing rain is anticipated). Once the topics are determined, investigators will develop communication products (short, high-quality videos; fact sheets; infographics; DMS messaging; and other materials recommended by the investigators) that clearly and concisely explain these operations to the public. Messaging for the communication products created in this project will be generated by the successful responder based primarily on data and statistics provided by Clear Roads. Investigators will conduct a limited search for national data and statistics to supplement the information provided by Clear Roads. Each produced video should be approximately 3 minutes or less in length and created in a file format that can be used on the Clear Roads website and on multiple social media platforms.
