The Department of Public Safety needs two forensic laser systems to use within their St. Paul, MN and Bemidji, MN forensic laboratories to provide the latent print section with a laser capable of revealing latent prints after the use of dyestains and lumicyano processing. The dual beam laser allows for better and enhanced recovery of latent prints due to multiple wavelengths. At a minimum, the laser system must be a dual wavelength system (green 532nm and blue 455nm), include a 2m corded light guide, and utilize a compact hand controller that has a Deadman’s finger or optional on/off switch, with remote interlock override on the hand controller. The product model desired is a Crime Science DBL8, or an approved equivalent.
