Southdale Library • The library’s existing collection (approximately 179K items that include books, periodicals CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, etc.) will need to be relocated from the Southdale Library location to the 625 Building Storage Facility. • Southdale Library, a three-story building, has one passenger elevator and one freight elevator with a loading dock. o It will be closed January 2025, and the new building is scheduled to reopen July 2027. Currently, the Southdale library collection is located on the second and third floor. • Return to building after construction – 165K Collection size Brookdale Library • The library’s existing collection (approximately 108K items that include books, periodicals CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, etc.) will need to be relocated from the Brookdale Library location to the 625 Building Storage Facility. • The current location for Brookdale Library is a one-story building, with the collection located on the main floor. o The building is scheduled to be closed July 2027 and reopened November 2028. • Return to building after construction – 125K Collection size
