Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Minnesota Zoological Garden requests proposals for the design, fabrication, and installation of sturdy, realistic, fossil replicas of dinosaur scat, dinosaur eggs, and dinosaur footprints. These interpretive elements will be incorporated into the new, seasonal Dino Hideout exhibit which features nature play elements, realistic animatronic dinosaurs, and engaging interpretive signage. Three identical replicas of each fossil (scat, eggs, and footprints) will be fabricated. One set will be affixed to an interpretive sign in Dino Hideout; one set will be mounted to a weighted base buried in the ground; the third set will serve as a back-up. Each replica will be round, with a diameter of approximately 12 inches. Each replica must include a simple, ADA-compliant Braille label. The realistic, fossil replicas will need to withstand an unsheltered, outdoor environment and repeated touching by thousands of guests. The selected contractor will be responsible for installing two of the three sets of fossil replicas.
