Qualified recycling contractors can provide in–county collection and proper recycling for the following household items: appliances, tires, electronic items, and mattresses from Chisago County residents for the year 2025. Contractors will verify county residency and collect a fee (the approved bid amount – less the County subsidy) for items collected, and submit this information in monthly reports. Contractors must also submit information about total tonnage recycled, how and where the items are ultimately processed, and have a current Chisago County Solid Waste License with insurance and bonding. Contractor must agree to the use of coupons for which they will be reimbursed for. Current recycling contractors may also be eligible for an additional incentive payment for a 5% increase in the number of residential visits over the previous year’s visit numbers.
